Approaching the airport on the M27 from the West Country and Bournemouth directions: Stay on the M27 past the M3 merge and leave at the following junction, J5 On leaving the motorway take the second exit off the roundabout for A335 "Eastleigh/Southampton Airport". Head straight over the next roundabout. Take the first left at the following roundabout. The airport is then clearly sign-posted. From South East

Approaching the airport from the east on the M27: Leave the M27 at junction 5 keeping in the right-hand lane on the exit slip-road. Take the fourth exit for A335 "Eastleigh/Southampton Airport". Head straight over the next roundabout. Take the first left at the following roundabout. The airport is then clearly sign-posted. With public transportation

Southampton Parkway Station is directly opposite the terminal and is a 2 minute walk to the SIXT office. When vacating the train, please exit on the Southampton Airport side of the station or utilize the pedestrian overpass provided to bring you to the correct side of the station. Walk towards the terminal, we are located next to the Short stay car park opposite the Terminal main Entrance.

Hired a car for a short trip to Southampton. After doing this I noticed some really bad reviews on all sorts of sites like trust pilot, TripAdvisor and Google. I was nervous about renting a car after this. However I have to say I had zero issues at all. Matt sorted a lovely car all ready for our arrival. It was spotless and damage on car matched paperwork. I checked in on the app and paid the deposit and nothing further was needed. The car seat was organised, clean and Matt helped with luggage to the car. Good directions for getting out and everything explained that was needed. The return was super quick, easy and no issues, again Matt was on hand and explained everything. I would definitely book a car again with Sixt, can't understand why there are so many terrible reviews, for all car hire companies! Maybe people only post the negatives? The one thing I would say is the insurance to reduce any excess is worth it. It does double the cost of the car, but gives piece of mind knowing if there are any small issues there won't be any disputes. I just looked at the cost per day with the excess already added on and decided if it's worth it or not and picked a car that matched the price I wanted to pay. Also when returning, add on a few more hours, my flight was at 4pm so I selected return for 4pm even though it would be back well before. There is no price difference as they are charged per day not hour - I seen a few comments re charges for late returns so this helps sort this. Big thanks to Matt for everything.
