Excellent service provided by Sixt in Kaunas Airport! To be fair I would not expect anything less from rental company renowned around the world, but it is always pleasant to receive the service exactly as expected. Staff extremely polite and helpful, fundamentally different from usual harassing and annoying experience with local companies. No pushing for additional services, polite, friendly and efficient. I have spent no more than 5 minutes picking-up the car, the guy at the counter only mentioned key limitations that are relevant for the rental (tank full to full, no smoking, amount of excess etc). Return was equally swift - bring car with full tank and that is it, no washing, cleaning or other nonsense. Yes price you pay is higher, but to be fair counting all the times I was scammed by other companies with unfair fees and limitations you actually save money in long term rending from respectable companies like Sixt. Also even deposit, excess and additional insurance (if you wanted it) was very reasonably priced considering the category of the car provided, no ridiculous 5000 Euro deposits (like Greenmotion for example, mine was literally just 500 Euro for few months old Lexus). The car was exact make and model I have rented, brand new, low miles and well equipped, exactly how one would expect luxury car rental would look. Also car was clean and in great condition, absolutelly nothing was wrong with the car. This is important to note, because in Lithuania it is not uncommon to rent Mercedes E-Class and get 8 years old CLA with million miles on it (literally miles, because car from ACE/Autobanga was ex-US import), and they pretend that it "matches the category". No - with Sixt you get exactly what you booked, or BETTER. Going back to the staff - they are literally trained differently, it is not the case of just pay more to get better car, they literally focus on different things in their interaction. They are focusing on making sure you are happy and comfortable in transaction and on genuinely providing good customer service, instead of focusing on how to extract unfair fee or charge out of you. And this is not something that you can buy with money, it has to come organically from the company culture and values. Highly recommended if you looking for worry free service.
