Aalborg or Ålborg is a city with 105,000 residents, making it the fourth largest city in Denmark. The city is believed to have been founded in the Viking era, but the area has been inhabited for far longer than that. Aalborg is located in the northern part of Himmerland, south of the Limfjord sound. The suburb of Nørresundby is located on the northern side of the sound. Aalborg has a rich and vibrant cultural scene.
